There is no idea, no fact, which could not be vulgarized and presented in a ludicrous light - Fyodor Dostoevsky

Bio

A native of Florida, Nolan found his first love with writing and film. He studied both at university and his training has directly influenced his approach and subject matter to fine art, in that it is driven by character and scene, as well as his process, which is slow and deliberate as opposed to free and exploratory. He is not a member of any organizations whatsoever.

Statement

“My goal is to create art that doesn't require analytical dissection. I hope to bring the viewer in via humor, the written word, and richly detailed images, and to keep them engaged by invigorating their own imagination with things they've never seen before. I prefer art where the artist does all the heavy lifting and doesn't rely on the audience to bear the burden of supplying meaning or story. I don’t like to stay in one particular visual style for too long and I try to come up with a different aesthetic for each new series I take on. If there is a theme to my work it’s poking fun at the ridiculousness of human actions. Mankind has made this world a weird and dark place, and so my work may come across as a little weird and dark too, but that's just me being honest. I don’t want to take away the seediness, I just want to take away the danger.”
